THE FIRTH  OF FORTH.

The Firth of Forth is an internationally important wetland due to the huge wintering waterfowl population which it supports. It is internationally important for wintering Pinkfooted Geese, Knot, Bar-tailed Godwit, Redshank and Turnstone. It is nationally important for wintering Great Crested Grebes, Cormorant, seven species of wildfowl and two species of Wader, and for breeding Common and Little Terns.

TOTAL WINTERING WATERFOWL-61,400 (23,800 WILDFOWL AND 37,600 WADERS.
